Phoenix graft candidates .

These are the huge juniper trunk that died

, I thought I killed them but now I'm not so sure . A quick hit with the karcher and they have quite a bit of borer activity under the bark which probably contributed to their demise.

Its not the trunks that are impressive its the bent , twisted and contorted roots which will be used this time .

Hoping to produce numerous trainers from these trunks utilizing the roots more so than the trunks , they will be slightly smaller than the other big graft but rather impressive by the looks of the roots .

Awesome Alpine
Looks like there's plenty of fun in amongst those bases to make some impressive pheonix displays.
Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hi Ryceman3 , this is the smaller material after splitting the trunks

. Each piece will be dealt with on its own character for the carving process after a few weeks of drying time . Quite surprised to find they are still a bit green on the inside . I will attempt to steam bend some of the long thin roots to improve the overall appearance of the deadwood . Tomorrow is another day and who's in a hurry ..

Cheers Alpine
