Re: Juniper Squamata
Looks great Ant.
Dunno if it's just me but I would have liked to have seen the journey continue with the low LHS part of this tree.
Great to see you back sharing and posting.

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Thanks Boics for your input! Its always good to analyze trees and find your groove with it. Part and parcel of developing your style. For me I decided on a taller slanting styleBoics wrote:Looks great Ant.

and felt the lower left trunk detracted from that, resulting in a more static stable stance. I think in future I will remove the now 1st LHB which will allow the tree to tip and move a little more to the right.

Beautiful tree... I have a maybe silly question where do you find those clear plastic tubes you have pressing against the tree?

Re: Juniper Squamata
you can buy plastic tubing in various diameters at Bunnings or Hardware stores. I use it over the wire to prevent cutting into the bark/wood

Re: Juniper Squamata
I think you'll find they are pieces of plastic (vinyl) tube. You should be able to buy it by the metre or in 5m lengths at any hardware shop. Comes in different diameters. Smaller 5mm should be good for most bonsai work. Just cut to required length and thread the wire through to cushion the branch it presses against.where do you find those clear plastic tubes you have pressing against the tree?
