Nooo please don't :crybye:

No Ferts in the soil ( especially Poo based ones). Dynamic Lifter has killed so many Azaleas its not funny!
Only Seasol every few days until the tree starts to show signs of recovery and ctive growing. Then introduce Azalea safe fertilisers.

I use Miracle grow and Charlie carp alternating fortnightly on mine.

DL is very alkaline so yes it would do Azaleas in.

so, just my normal soil mix from Peter @ Bonsai Emporium, light seasol a couple of times a week, shade, cut back slightly, seal wounds, any root work before going into the foam box? Thanks in advance.

Ken, which of the Miracle Grow ferts are you using? I have about 2 feeds left of my M/G Azalea Fertiliser and then I will be like everyone else - chasing a good one. I am not sure I will ever be able to forgive Miracle Grow for dropping this great product.

(I got lucky and was able to clean out a couple of Nurseries when the product stopped, strained the budget, but the azalea's were happy :D )

For those (like me) who stuggled to find said product:

Try here: http://www.manutec.com.au/default.asp?p ... id=MTO5078
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Thanks Boics,

I was on a new mobile and i'm unsure of the cut and paste function. I ended up purchasing some this morning anyway. From what I have heard, Manutec products are good. Besides they are the experts and if they say it is for Azaleas, Camellias etc who am I to argue.

I can, if anyone is interested, upload a picture of the full spec analysis or type them out.

We might have a saviour here Ken. Manutec ferts aren't a bad product usually. Shall have to find some and give it a go, me thinks.

P.S. I see you buy fertiliser as often as I do mate.

Graeme if you were refering to me about buying fertiliser, I can say I am always looking at something. I'm sure it should be as difficult as it seems. I think half the problem is we are spoilt for choice.

Any way I thought I would write up the analysis for this product. All values are %W/W

Nitrogen (N) as nitrate 1.4
Nitrogen (N) as Ammonium 10.0
Nitrogen (N) as Urea 3.6
TOTAL NITROGEN 15.0

TOTAL PHOSPHORUS (P) as water soluble 4.5

Potassium(K) as nitrate 4.5
TOTAL POTASSIUM (K) 12.5

Magnesium (Mg) as Sulphate 0.78
Iron (Fe) as EDTA Chelate 0.26
Manganese (Mn) as EDTA Chelate 0.03
Copper (Cu) as Copper Chelate 0.06
Zinc (Zn) as Zinc Chelate 0.09
Boron (B) as Sodium Borate 0.05
Molybdenum (Mo) as Sodium Molybdate 0.001

Approx. pH of solution using 5g in 5 liters = 3.60
Approx. pH of solution using 10g in 5 liters = 3.10
