It was dug ....saved
from the road side a couple of years ago due to some planned road widening. Before this I used to drive past it and admire it as it would put out these deep red flowers. (Strangely the flowers it put out last year were more of a pink colour?? Different ground conditions? lost!?) I've attempted a few thread grafts on it to get some better branch placement and to fill, hopefully in a couple of seasons these will take. This is a very quick vert of were I'm thinking of taking it. Still a way to go!
