Manchurian pear flowering in April?
Just a quick snap....how confused must this tree be? It's still hot and sultry here, well over 30°C AND Autumn.... and there are flowers, and lots of buds.... (and grasshoppers.)
Should I be concerned?

Re: Manchurian pear flowering in April?
@Wal I have fruit still on my Mulberry, I don't find that so surprising, but the pear is *supposed* to flower in Spring.
@Kirky do you generally get flowers on Plums and Cherries at this time?
Seems like the Summer flowering plants are still keeping on, because of the heat, and the Spring flowering plants are confused about the weather as well...
@no idea - I guess at least it IS flowering, even if it's late.
My bougy has also just started, @Mbunro... weird.

what I thought was a " manchurian pear" has leaves that look nothing like that-and has not flowered - I have some investigation to do--

I'm just going on the label that was on it....I did buy it at a country market, so I guess it could be anything, lol!what I thought was a " manchurian pear" has leaves that look nothing like that-and has not flowered - I have some investigation to do--
It flowered last Spring, when it had lost its leaves... so not at all sure what's going on with it now.

Re: Manchurian pear flowering in April?
I must admit, there are plenty growing in my area that are flowering heavily, and yet when I drove through the Botanical Gardens at Toowong on Monday, their huge bougy section was mostly bereft of bracts...My bougies flower from about late feb thru to mid summer mostly
I should go get cuttings off those that are flowering...
