A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Still going strong and no sight of borers. My plan is to let it grow freely for a year to make sure it puts out good roots and doesn't just live on reserves. Maybe that will help delay rot dieback ???
