Flowers are lovely.
I think it has already been mentioned in other recent threads that these are often styled in shapes that don't follow 'normal' bonsai shape. They are styled to show off the flowers to best advantage and I have seen some impressive photos of them with lots of dead wood and hollow trunks as features.
Looks like this one will probably be strongly one sided.
Good luck keeping it healthy and looking great.

Bit of carving and time and can see a great future here.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Great score, lots of possibilities. Tell me to get knotted if you want, but for me, the two parallel left branch/trunk things are too parallel, and will never live together well. My guess would be to cut the low branch off, and lean the trunk over to the left so the top branch is a continuation of it. There are plenty of branches to keep going with after that.

Lovely tree, whatever you decide, please keep posting it as it develops.

Yes. Most likely the lower left branch will be shortened and carved.
Shari and jins works well in prunus.
After seeing hundreds of prunus bonsai by googling, prunus styling does not follow the usual styling rules of other species.
Straight branches full of flower is common as long as there is not too much crossing.
Not all of them, though. Some do show lots of movement in the branches, even weeping. Don't know how they achieve that.

Nice one. If you don't mind me asking how much does something like this cost?
For what it is worth I wouldn't be too hasty is cutting limbs off. Take a while to get to know the tree. Moreover, if you do decide to chop you might want to use some of the existing twigs to grafts with first.
Cheers,
Symon

Price is too low to disclose  it's been on Gumtree for days but no sale :lost: I have $1500 cash in my pocket, to give you an idea. :tu:
Was very surprised when I was told the asking price. Paid and put the tree in the car within 1 min. Then went back for two more smaller ones.
Market value is a tricky thing about Bonsai , like all art.

Good find Bonbon and a much better/easier tree to work with than your other one. Lots to work with and easy to see multiple do-able options with this one.

What a great show of flowers too.

Good start. Now comes the ''very difficult'' job of shaping!

Ah, yes, I thought that the Trident looked familiar and I had seen it somewhere before. He was good to let you swap even after you had wired the other one.

As the main attraction is the flowers, I don't have a big shaping plan. Carve the lower left branch then tilt the tree to the right just before the upper left branch becomes vertical.
Not too eager to hav major styling as I already like it very much at this present look because of the flowers and the sweet smell.

Totally fine with that. There is no rush. One day you might discover that the flowers are not the main attraction but the way they are presented is. You will still be able to work on it in 50 years!
