Large collected hawthorn

Post by cottie »

Last year whilst collecting some smaller hawthorns from a friends farm I found this larger tree and prepared it for collection. Back at the end of July I returned with some help and after a fair bit of blood sweat and almost tears I managed to dig it out. I don't think my wife was very impressed that we now have another hawthorn in the back yard, it was a bit big to sneak it in with out her noticing.

Great score. The old bark and the movement add great value to this yamadori.
After it has rested for a good while, please keep us informed about its progress.

Thanks guys. Watto I think you are partially to blame for my addiction to digging hawthorns, it was your post about digging hawthorns that prompted me to start looking for somewhere to dig.
