Had a very healthy and recently flowering Azalea and after turning the Azalea around to grab sun into the other side I noticed this white discolouration on the leaves, can anyone advise what it is and how to get rid of it?

Hi Wiggs,
It looks very much like Azalea lace bug, to control them unfortunately involves the use of a systemic insecticide or if the infestation is only small you could just prune out the infected leaves, inspect closely for the culprit and spray with eco oil or similar.
Here’s a link about lace bugs

Hope that helps!

I agree. Almost certainly azalea lacebug. I find the systemic insecticides most effective because the chemical moves right through the plant getting to the bugs even where you did not get the initial spray. You will probably need to repeat the treatment every spring as they seem to keep coming back.
