Flowering season is in full swing at Shibui Bonsai.
The crab apple is just past its prime now

Azaleas are starting to flower one by one

A couple of small flowered varieties are just starting to open buds so should be in full flower for Canberra Bonsai show next weekend.

Another small red flowered variety is also in full flower now

I have selected a couple of these small red ones to develop as shohin sized bonsai

This one has been recently pruned so it will concentrate more on growth than flowers this year. I'm hoping that will speed up the ramification and development a little.

Here's another trunk I picked out for a small bonsai.

Not sure that those flowers are going to be in proportion to the trunk though :lost:

Most of the larger collected azalea trunks are also starting to flower

Some prunus varieties are also flowering now.
Prunus glandulosa has masses of flowers but takes a long time to grow a half decent trunk

there is also a pink flowered variety but flowers are past their best now
