Hi all,
I’ve recently acquired my first willow leaf fig.
I feel this has potential but I’m abit nervous to start hacking away as I don’t know much about WLF’s.
The bottom branch isn’t the strongest but I would like to keep it. I’m thinking it needs a repot and then to be cut back quite hard.
When reporting when is the best time and how hard can I cut back the roots?
All ideas and advice welcome!
Thanks
Pat

Re: Willow leaf fig advice
The warmer the better to work WLF’s. You can cut back fairly hard on the roots and top if thats what you want to do. Just remember to always work figs in warm weather and you wont have a problem. Here in Melbourne we do ours generally December. Being in the Hunter it should be warmer earlier.

I like it. Interesting fat little trunk to play with. Looking forward to seeing it progress
