I appreciate the comments and feedback from all.

I will continue with its current direction and work towards refining the top to appear more "mature".

Other than that.... Bring on the next few seasons!

Here is a progression video of this one,
Soon I plan on defoliating all branches except the back two, hopefully this will allow them to catch up this season and be more in proportion to the rest of the tree.

I almost cannot believe that it has grown so much in 18 months! Both in trunk girth and branch ramification. Very cool update.

Excellent! I have been swapping between page 1 and page 2 of this thread just to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me.

Well done....and in 18 months.

A BIG lesson learnt this season - Don’t leave figs out overnight during sub zero temps!
Unfortunately this one experienced die back of all branches as a result.
I have removed all the dead material with the hope to have it flush back I order to redevelop this one once again.

Oh no!
I just discovered this thread.. a heartbreaking finish.. and a heartbreaking lesson, no doubt.. as many in bonsai are...

But, mate, if the first page is anything to go by, you’ll have this tree up and running again before the sun comes up tomorrow.

Good luck. Please keep posting.. it’s a great thread despite the setback.
