Tiger Bark Fig - Progression

Post by DavidWilloughby »

Hi All,

To keep the progression going of this tree, I thought I would start up this thread as a continuation from this topic here: viewtopic.php?f=148&t=14685

Here is an update on the tree as I have recently defoliated it and wired it up.

I will update this again once it has foliage

Cheers

Was thinking about defoling a few of my figs soon, thought I'd wait another month though for it to get just a little warmer at night. Great looking tree.

Hi all,

Just giving this a quick update, it is still due a repot at this stage and will be looking to defoliate and rewire it at that time too.
TBF 27 December 2016.jpg
A few more years and it will be looking good, after next years cut back hard and regrow, let grow and repeat for every 2 year period for 6 years, condensing the tree more.

Any thoughts and comments are most welcome.

Cheers

Hi all,

A quick update on this one as it was repotted yesterday, along with defoliating and thinning it out.
TBF 17 October 2017.jpg
Will feed it strong to push growth with the intention of defoliating it early January. Will post a progress photo once it has leafed out.

Any thoughts are comments are welcomed.

Cheers

Hi Dave, The little tiger is looking good, one way it could be improved is to thicken the lower right/back branch by
keeping foliage on it when defoliating the rest of the tree.
Also hard to tell in pic. but you might end up with a knuckle where the long right branch and the top branches emerge.

The pot size and glaze really sets it all off nicely. Keep it going : :tu2: ....dog.
