Ever heard of it?

Post by MasonC »

I went to Bunning today and got to 'Midnight Beauty' Ficus Benji. clumps. I googled it and there was some very limited info. as to bonsai but It did say that they are one of the best figs to grow in pots and in shade. I am going to fuse them tomorrow and will get some pics! :D Does anyone have some experience with these? Would love to hear!
Thanx

They are both about 35 cm tall now and have a fair few aerial roots from the lower trunk

Jayc,
This kinds leaf darkens as it gets older but it's new growth is green like a normal fig. It tolerates being in complete shade a lt better than the other kinds and is BETTER OFF in a pot! :o

well there you go, there are a couple of differences, have you got one of these mate? i am wondering maybe the leaves are darker because they are for shaded ares and if you put them out in the sun more if they would turn lighter?

yer. There were some other ones that were in full sun all day and they had very light leaves. These ones were in partial shade which is where they are meant to be. I love their colour!
