not sure if it's tropical or sub-tropical

Wondering if anyone knows what the tree might be. From Hainan in China, subtropical climate.

Although I can see the similarity in the leaf shape to a Ficus microcarpa, I can't see any of the growth tips clearly enough and the fruit doesn't look like a fig. My first though was a relative of the Lilly Pilly Syzygium/Acmena/Eugenia, which would narrow it down to quite a few hundred species that could grow in sub-tropical China. Again though, the fruit doesn't look right. :lost:

LOL....thanks for the suggestions, I asked on farcebook too, and was told it's Euonymus europaeus

So, neither tropical or sub-tropical!
