Fig

Post by Jon Chown »

I scored this one from a nephew who had a brief fling with Bonsai. He had planted it over a rock, but pretty much left it at that - when I first got it the branches were long and spindly so I cut them back and waited for some new shoots to work with. I am just starting to get some shape about it now.

That will be a nice tree Jon. Watch that root coming down off the right hand side branch, it looks like it is thickening the branch in places it doesnt need thickening. Do you have the banyan style in mind for this one?

Sorry I missed the reply on this one Peter - yes I am trying to create a banyan style with this one but I want to avoid the mistakes that I made on my other Fig. I will not be frightened to cut this one back hard.
