I agree. Any more info on the type of tree/ bush - shape, bark, trunk, etc would help us to id. Nandina is a multi- stem clump like a bamboo. Its common name is Sacred bamboo. There seems to be 2 types - old style taller plant grows to about 1.5 m tall and a dwarf form to about 50 cm tall.
