London plane grows very easily from seed. I have a one in a pot. 3 year old seedling now.
Teeny tiny seeds, amazing it can grow to such a massive thing.

They have incredibly beautiful foliage and are great shade trees. But yes, the seed balls can create a bit of a mess.

I have one of these in the courtyard of a building I manage and they are pests, block up gutters with massive leaves that never break down, give anyone with hay fever issues all spring, roots that bust any plumbing system.

None of these issues would affect the grower in the bonsai world however the large leaves as mentioned also just go from green to brown overnight too, pretty ugly in Autumn, the mottled bark would look okay though.
