Inherited this plant that had a bit of die back last year but is now quite healthy. It looks like it is warming up to flower profusely. I have no idea what it is or whether it would be good bonsai material. Any help with ID appreciated.
One of mothers plants she didn't want. What is it?

It looks like PIERIS japonica 'Temple Bells'.

Pieris Japonica is a member of the Ericaceae and as such should be treated similarly to Azalea Spp. They are frost resistant but drought tender. The variety Christmas Bells is a good subject for bonsai. It should shoot back well on old wood.
