Not sure, but it looks like a cultivar of tibouchina (aka lassiandra where I live.) Fairly soft wood, rampant growing in mild (NZ) climates.

Thanks for the reply..
http://pza.sanbi.org/karomia-speciosa .
I have just managed to locate it . Type of Chinese hat plant. Karomia speciosa. South African . Seems like a multi stemed Shrub/ tree, semi deciduous , OK with heavy pruning.
Looks soft , not inspiring me as far as a bonsai goes.. Nice flowers but

Galeandra - welcome! (Photos of NZ native bonsai perhaps? - I have no idea what they might be!)

Re: Pretty flower not sure bonsai material
Honestly, I don't know the name of this plant, but it looks very suitable for a cottage. I'd plant one of these myself. Just tell me how gentle it is. Does it tolerate heat or cold? Is it difficult to grow it? You might try using Google Images, but it's possible you won't find anything. I will try to search on the site where I usually order flowers; it also contains names with photos. Here it is -- https://troopscout.com/bloom-and-wild-voucher-code/. You can look here, too. If I find it, I'll order it right away.
