ID dawn or coast redwood or not?

I planted this seedling a couple of years ago. I think its a dawn redwood but not sure and cant remember! Image

It's certainly a pine of some sort, not a redwood.
In the blue darkening sky, the moon paints a pine tree.

Yes. Sorry I should clarify. I planted redwood at the same. I definitely planted Giant Sequioa in another pot and they have come up (much more obvious). I planted a couple of other things. Can't remember what...

Agreed. 100% pine. Which one? JBP is as good a guess as any (for me that is, others will be more definitive I’m sure)... I’ll go JBP, certainly has all the familiarity of one.

Well it's a 2 needle pine so it's not Radiata pine haha. I'd say Japanese Black pine, the colour of the bud (Silver) is the same as Black pines. Japanese Red pine buds in my experience are a darker brown colour
