Plant Identification

Post by simonj »

uk;l.jpg
Hi everyone,
I am trying to ID a plant in my garden to determine the best method to take a cutting for bonsai. It is a small bush, 1.5m tall with small green elongated leaves, and develops small red flowers regularly during the year, which quickly turn to seed. See photos.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

G'day Simon,

Your plant is a Graptophyllum, probably Graptophyllum excelsum. It is a native, can be grown from cuttings, and makes lovely bonsai.

Regards
