Hi All,
My neighbour had a clean out of his gardens last week and gave me a few Figs and 2 Chinese Tallows (will post pics in another forum). He also gave me another plants which looks like it has just come out of a fire and twisted. I have given it a name of "Dave's arm", after my other neigbour broke his arm after riding his razor and it looks somewhat familiar. anyway i have posted pics of this plant for Id.....
I'm thinking it is related to the Gum...
[SOLVED]What my neigbour gave me.and id..........

Interesting trunk:-)and you will need to let it recover andfor a while and next re pot you will have think of ideas then.
Lean it hard over to the left might be good
I think I may have one of these I collected, but have no idea what it might be?

Re: What my neigbour gave me...........
It is a Persoonia, probably P. levis but could be P. lanceolata. It is extremely difficult to keep these alive after collection. Good luck!

Hey Danny,
Joel is spot on its a Persoonia and that they are extremely difficult to keep alive, assuming it is a locally sourced plant it is most likely lanceolata. Can you ask your neighbour where it came from & how long it has been potted? In my experience it can take up to 2yrs for these to finally drop dead after being collected.....
Keep us updated with this one, I am particularly keen to know how you go with it.

Re: What my neigbour gave me...........
Hi Matt & Joel,
thanks for the feedback, i think Joel is correct with the P.levis. i did a spot of reading and the flaky bark with red trunk underneath plus the broad leaf, is what i have here.
i like the unusual 2 twist in the trunk.
I dug it from his garden and potted it as he didnt want it there probably due to the shape and thought i could possibly bonsai it in his garden.
Don't really know what to do with it yet, apart from full sun and feed.
