Hey people,

There is an interesting plant growing down the end of my street that I have no idea what it is or if it could be used as a bonsai. Here are some dodgy iPhone pics:

It may be the immature foliage form of Brachychiton populneus.

I agree with joel. B. poulaneus has quite variable immature foliage around here. Some have deeply divided leaves similar to bottle tree, others similar to yours but all end up the same as they age. Lots of seedlings come up from seed in bird droppings but you will probably find the parent tree in a park or garden somewhere in the area.
