Thanks Pearcy. You are correct. Most come from layers off larger tress t
hat would otherwise be chopped and the top tossed.
If there is interesting movement of taper then I will try to layer them to make use of them
The other way is to chop a larger tree down and then regrow the top.
My little saotome azalea is a larger tree chopped low

The banksia integrifolia is awesome Ken :tu: Do you think it is easier to do minis from a cutting or air layer rather than trying to grow from scratch ?
