Hi everyone
Here is a before/after of a shimpaku I recently purchased from Chris up at Red Dragon Bonsai (go check out his nursery if your around the goldy!) At first I thought id give it a crack and style my tree as a kind of windswept twin trunk ..kinda didn't work how I wanted it too so the initial styling resulted in this, I'm pretty happy with it although not sure about the jin as it kind of takes your eye away from the main trunk (which I also thought doesn't sit well with the rest of the tree as it is the thickest part and the curve looks a little funky). Let me know your thoughts and inputs! always greatly appreciated.
cheers
alex

I like what you're doing there, though i don't grow much juniper anymore due to skin irritation from the needles so what i can contribute to juniper discussions is very limited.
the jin on the truck is a really nice touch too

My thoughts are that your main trunks Right hand branch is far too big.
I think the RH branch should be your apex.
I'd then manipulate the 2nd trunk foliage upwards to fill the gap a bit and to work in harmony as a twin trunk.
I'm not overly fussed on the jin but typically speaking when it's gone it's gone!

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful
