Hi there the pine started from a $30 nursery stock..I think 6 years about..,memory?, changed it up over the years and I think this is my end game now in site..think!
Needs A little more clean out when it hardens off some more...I feel a little heavy at this point.
Stands pretty neutral and actually I like it from both sides...little more time will tell.
Anyway stands at 9 inches/230mm....cheers.

As is often the case with your posts, your tree helped me reflect and learn. I had the opportunity recently to review a few shohin-sized pines for purchase - I declined because I wanted more movement in the lower trunk; your tree shows me that the potting angle can create the interest down low.
Still learning. Have a good Long weekend.

You're quite correct angles are very important when movement is missing or slight, the stock was very plain to start with..but for the price that is the challenge and a great entry to learn with, when started I was going for a heavy bias branch one side and then changed direction and shortened it and now bringing some growth opposite as per drawing...might stand it up a tiny bit too?
Remember we don t need too much branching on little ones Mark, as my pine collection goes to shohin now...but my figs are being made larger hmmm
ps...seed grown pines in young are the way for a lot better taper most times too Mark, but price and availability........ Happy Easter to you and your family....cheers Mate
