Re: ShOw YoUr ShOhIn BoNsAi (iN aNy StAgE)
hi,
as promised some pics of my shohin, all of them are still in training in one way or another, i have included a few trees that are a little bigger but they arent to bad so thought i would share.
some of them like the willow leaf arent my fav but it might be a decent tree eventually, the pot is horrendous but its just in it for root development reasons, i needed to tie it in a pot as it was a failed airlayer attempt, well 2 actually and i got frustrated with it and took it as a cutting and reduced it considerably. pot is still ugly
the banksia is my one and only but i am starting to like it even though it needs a lot more development
hope some of these were what you were after john (told ya that willow leafs pot is horrible )
cheers
Jamie

Some nice trees there.
Thought I might show the Casuarina torulosa that I potted today in a Pat K pot. I envisage a bright lime green pot in the future but the Pat pot will do for now

Here is a back shot as the front shot may have given the impression there was a large chop

Thought it looked that way. I reckon it should look a treat when I get a top on it something like this
http://bonsaismiths.net/bonsai-services.php
I don't know much about torulosa. The foliage looks more like a grass tree or something than the Cas that I am used too so I can only hope the foliage comes up as I expect.
Leong had a few of these similar at Bonsai South but I hear that the Canberra club cleaned him out on their recent visit
