Mame Chinese Elm Repot

I dont know if this quaifies for a mame or not but it is little. t is 9cm (90mm) from top of pot to top of tree. It has a 23mm diameter trunk and has been in training for nearly 12 months. It was a root cutting of a much bigger tree. I was recently given a few small pots, all of which are unique and very beautiful. I would like to put this tree into one of the two following pots, which would you choose? The pot it is in now, it has been in since i cut it from the parent tree.

I agree with Antonio and Jon about the perception of strength in the 2nd choice. I like the tree in choice 1 as the tree had the appearance of a better balance, the trunk didn't appear over imposing as a result of a smaller pot. The trunk looked a bit more slender, which worked better with the foliage.

very nice indeed peter!!!

great little elm pal. they both look good. the larger giving the tree a more feminine appearance and the smaller giving the tree more power and masculinity. whatever floats ya boat. i know that probably doesnt help but tough.

Yes Peter, I agree with Antonio and in particular I like the second choice. The tree looks stronger in my mind.

ya dont get off that easy mate.....I am after a decision, which one would you choose.

not because i happen to be an intense personallity

but i like the macho tension and movement the smaller pot creates in the composition. the proportions are right too. yep im with jon on this one. the larger is elegantly strong but more peaceful a setting. so therefor the decision belongs to the beholders emotion. i think thats you pete.

It was a root growing on another tree a little over 12 months ago Hector! The 1st pot is what i put it in after taking it from the parent tree.
