I recently lost a lot of trees due to wood borers. Unfortunately, one of these is this tree and also the parent tree.
Always we hope someone else has the answer.

This is the first time I've seen this post so was enjoying the progress as I was reading and was shocked to find the end of the line for these trees. I was expecting to continue veiwing the development of some great little trees, you did a fantastic job. Sorry about what happened.

How does one know he has wood borer, and any way to prevent that? I dont want to get it and not know I have it. Can a tree be saved if caught on time?
