AusBonsai Blogs

Welcome to the new AusBonsai blogs!

For the last 12 months, we have been working with a select group of AusBonsai members to produce some blogs. The blogs were created to showcase these member's trees, techniques and their passion for bonsai and the related arts. We are hopeful that they will be beneficial in helping raise the profile of Australian bonsai and artists as well as being a teaching guide for those wishing to increase their knowledge.

I'd like to encourage you to visit the blogs and subscribe to the RSS feeds so you get notified of updates. Please feel free to post comments, questions and messages of encouragement on the individual blogs as they are intended to be interactive. Your support will help inspire the bloggers to continue sharing their adventures.

Each Blogger will also have their own thread set up in the new AusBonsai Blogs forum where they will post notices of new blogs and other relevant updates. These threads are intended to be interactive so your comments, ideas, suggestions and requests are encouraged.

The blogs, in no particular order, are as follows;

https://www.ausbonsai.com.au/blog/TonyBebb
Edward Scissorhands blog.jpg
https://www.ausbonsai.com.au/blog/Edward
NewZealandTeaTrees blog.jpg

Wattos blog.jpg

Craigs blog.jpg
https://www.ausbonsai.com.au/blog/Craig
Alpinearts blog.jpg

If you are interested in having your own free AusBonsai blog, please submit an expression of interest to me via PM. Please note that due to maintenance constraints, not all requests can be accommodated.

Thank you for your continued support for AusBonsai :tu:

Regards,
Steven

Hi Steven,

I like the idea of a blog but I wonder what the difference is between the blog and a regular post. My thinking is that for the amount of information out there on any given topic by a particular artist there would have to be something unique on the blog to make it worthwhile following. Are blogs meant to replace progression posts and keep drive space down? Just a thought.

Cheers,

Brad75 aka Brad Jackson.

Hi Brad,

The blogs are for individual members to showcase their work, ideas, trees, techniques etc in one place that they brand and produce the way they like. They are to compliment the forum, not compete. Some content may be reproduced on the forum but the blogs will hopefully be much more comprehensive.
They are also hosted on our servers so the motive is not to keep space down. They are intended to help promote these artists and their work.

And if I find out that you haven't been checking them daily, I'll... :|

Awesome Steven! A great way to promote Australian bonsai artists!
I have seen Craig, Alpine and New ZealandTeaTrees blogs before, but haven't seen the blogs of Watto, Tony and Edward Scissorhands...so I will be sure to check them all out!
I realise that the blogs are to work in conjunction with AB and I think it is great!
I just hope that the new blogers continue to post on the AB forum as much as they would normally and not just on their blogs!...Alpine and Craig certainly set the standard in this regard in my opinion.
I look forward to checking all the blogs out, so thank you!
Cheers, Dario.

I want to thank Steven and the AB team for providing this opportunity for us. I have wanted something like this for a while, but am a tech idiot and always put it off. To have the back up of the AB team is a great help.

I hope you like what we all have to show you, and it will certainly not effect my involvement with this wonderful site. I believe it will make it easier to handle a number of posts, and once I get a better camera, I can get some better shots.

Hope you enjoy

Tony

My comment was probably a little silly and certainly not meant to be negative.
Once again, I think it is a fantastic development and I am glad that you will continue to post as regularly on AB as well as your blog Tony!
I am off to check out your blog now!
Cheers, Dario.

A blog is a somewhat more personal, somewhat more constructed. And usually, (on good blogs) with some sort of unifying theme.

Another analogy - if a post is like a letter to the editor, then a blog is having your articles published weekly.
