Re: [Gerard] ulmus procera 1
The apex needs to develop a little more, and is due to have a bit more wiring because the new seasons branches have a mind of their own.
(I feel that the final presentation should be without wire if possible)
Height is 19cm (photos taken 6 weeks ago, Aug 14)
I am pleased with how the deadwood is developing and making the trunk the main feature, I expect the foliage canopy will require constant trimming and will benefit from occasional defoliation.

Thanks again Gerard for your permission as you can see tree has grew and refined heaps to a nice cascade style . I plan to grow the cascade even farther and work on leaf size reduction and work the roots over .

G'day Miagi,
Have you potted it a little too upright or is it just the angle that the photo was taken on?
Regards,
Steven

Maybe also potted a bit far to the right, I would of allowed more space on the right (under the canopy) and tighter on the leftSteven wrote:G'day Miagi,

Another nice tree.
I saw this at the bnw show did I not?
Maybe a slightly bigger pot next year will suit the tree and give you more confidence to get the right potting angle as well.
Keep us posted.

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Hi boics
No this on is not show ready yet maybe in a couple yrs
I seen heaps of nice EE at the show my mouth was watering !!!
Has a few faults yes I think a bigger pot would be better
Hard to manoeuvre in this little pot
Just bought a heap of pots will see if I have one to suit
