Cape honey suckle
Cost Free
hight 270mm to tip
I got this acouple of week ago from the mother in laws garden
It was hidden onder a mass of weeds and grass and only had two 3m whips shooting out under the mess. It has had no styling what so ever. You can see all the chops are old from cutting back(with intention to kill probably )
It has 3 new shoots showing so Im not sure if it will even survive but we will see.
Steven can you let me know if this is ok to enter please.

Re: [Damian79] Tecomaria Capenisis
Looks good Damian, remarkably similar to mine. Cape Honeysuckle showdown!!! It will be nice to share info as we go since I haven't worked with this one before. So far I can tell you they don't seem to mind root pruning. Cut mine back pretty hard and left the foliage intact, hasn't shown a bit of wilt and it's pushing new growth. Seems like a good one to work on!
Cheers, Karl

LOL show down it is I havent worked on these at all so sharing info would be great
Mine had a rough dig at best but I did manage to keep a good root mass intact so hopefuly it goes ok.
A couple of shoots showing its not just stored energy

Up date 1 for my honey suckle.
I thought this thing died on me because it didn't show any signs of life for weeks then a single soot popped out and seems to be getting bigger.
Hopefuly in spring it powers along. How is yours coming along Lackhand?

Re: [Damian79] DEAD Tecomaria Capenisis
That's too bad. Mine has proven much more stubborn to work with than I had hoped. I've still got growth, but none where I want it. Looks like not a very good species to work with.
