I umm'd and ahh'd about even joining as I'm no threat but it will be a great incentive to fast track my learning and challenge myself.
Plus I own very few shohin, I am generally drawn to larger bonsai but am quickly gaining appreciation for them!

Re: AusBonsai Shohin Progression Competition 2016-2017
the Comp is ON!
Time to ge the wire and shears out and go for it,
Good luck to everyone and remember that a dead tree is not the desired outcome. If in doubt, err on the conservative side and take it slower. There will always be follow up comps to refine the initial development.
Last night at School, I pulled out a self sown Callistimon from one of my pots and gave to Ray and suggested he enter it in the Comp
Looking forward to seeing what everyone can achieve.

Re: AusBonsai Shohin Progression Competition 2016-2017
38 entries in the REFINE section and 111 in the CREATE. I wonder how many will remain at the end?
Good luck to all and please remember that the main objective is to have some fun and sharpen your skills, not to kill trees.
Regards,
Steven

Re: AusBonsai Shohin Progression Competition 2016-2017
Hi all
I have reviewed all of the entries in both comps and moved the ones that have not been updated in the last 3 months ( between 31st May - 31st Aug).
the entries hve been moved to the Disqualified / deleted forum as they are now exclude from the running in this comp.
If you have a tree thus affected, please keep on developing it as it will be eligible in the next Refine competition comp.
ps, there are no disqualification in the the refine section so far soi keep it up guys and gals
