Have repotted, change the planting angle and applied a little wire. Will take one of the 2 bar branches off later. Just have to feed, feed and feed it

Hi Tony,
Are the pegs to help give the branches some downwards bend? Guessing they're a better alternative than wire for something so thin.
Thanks and happy new year,
Andrew

Yes they are useful to bring branches down that are in the right position radially. Wiring is problematic with bougys - especially with new growth. I picked that tip up here on the forum a while ago.

Tony said this plant is a cutting - perhaps he can give you some tips
A search of the site returned a couple of results - though they're more about bougys in general than a specific thread on growing from cuttings.

Hell yes it's the only way get them. I have done cuttings up to 75mm in diameter. I doin't have a 100% success rate - probably about 75%. If I find a vine (they aren't a tree) that has a different colour bract that I don't have I take multiple cuttings to ensure survival. I now look for interestingly shaped branches to make interesting trunks. Just cut the end on an angle, use a bit of rooting hormone and plant into some free draining mix. I only give them a little water until they are established

Very disappointed with this - not growing as well as I would like. I do find bougy's in pots are as slow as compared to ground growing

Yes they can grow from cuttings. They can also grow from large wood cuttings
These are the large wood cuttings that I made (this might help)

Bit disappointed with this one's growth. Like most of my bougy's it is flowering which is a bit odd at this time of year. I am going to cut back the branches as they are a bit heavy on the ends and hope it puts on a bit of new growth.

I must have been using a non standard ruler
Suddenly realised it was too high so I have chopped it

Still trying to get some growth - a lot of my bougy's seem to have slowed down this year over winter
