Falling Branches, Not Falling Leaves

Last Sunday night we had a short sharp storm come through our area. To be honest I didn't think anything of it, but the next morning when I went out to check the bonsai I was surprised to see that a branch from a tree had crashed into/onto one of my bonsai rooms.
If you are a glass half full person, the damage was minimal. One bonsai with a few branches taken off, and one, an English Elm had it roots cut from the trunk by the copper wire used wire the bonsai into the pot, probably as a result of the branch hitting the trunk of the bonsai.

Lucky no more damage than that. if it hit while you were under it it may have been worse

Yep, its a bugger when that happens. You were lucky the branch was not larger. Love the pot your olive is in Watto.

I also like the pot the Olive is in. Who made it? Also, what are those black corner things under the square pot?

Thanks for the commiserations, but yes it could have been much worst. The biggest pieces of the branch finished up on the outside of the bonsai house. The olive is in a Loraine Simpson pot and one day I hope the combination will be OK. There are a few good Aussie potters featured here, including a couple from Pat Kennedy, all part of my theory of supporting good Aussie potters.
The black corners are just plastic pieces that are used to keep the pot off the ground (tile) to improve drainage.
