The Winter Solstice has Arrived

Post by Kevin »

For all the Winter sun seekers - Our days will now become longer.
June Solstice (Winter Solstice) is on Wednesday, 21 June 2017 at 2:24 pm in Sydney. In terms of daylight, this day is 4 hours, 31 minutes shorter than on December Solstice. In locations south of Equator, the shortest day of the year is around this date.

I got an alert on my calendar this morning too :-)
tis mean our days are getting longer, but the average temps will still fall over the next month due to thermal lag :-)

Always easier to put another log on the fire or pull up the covers verses 36 overnight. Can't say I miss summer at all ;)

I'm with you Kirky, I prefer the cooler months too. I'm finding the older I get the less I like the heat :)

I have an outside job so summer isn't my favorite time of the year. Winter is fairly mild here on the northern beaches of Sydney so I wouldn't say I experience the harshness of winter either. I don't get the winter colour as a trade off though. :palm:

Best time of the year for viewing bonsai is now but I always look forward to the growing season. My trees will make more branches! :tu:
