Fungus - good, bad or indifferent?

Post by Redsonic »

Brisbane has been very wet for the last 3/4 days and I found these growing from the drain holes of my wisteria. The wisteria is still in the potting mix it came in, so getting a bit wetter than my other plants perhaps.
About 8 hours elapsed between the first photos and the third one, and by the next day, the fruiting bodies were all shrivelled and dead.
Any ideas what they are?

As has been said before, you are going to have to change your username, NI!
Research shows it is not harmful to the plant (feeds on very decayed organic matter), and a common name is Plantpot Dapperling, as they are so common in potted plants.
I saw one in the wild today, when walking the dog, so it is obviously enjoying the weather.
