Better than mesh

Hi guys, one piece of equipment I have been using since I started Bonsai is the painter's/tiler's tool you see below. It is called Uni Pro and is available from Bunnings. I have already used 50-60% of this roll so you can imagine how many pots it can be used for. I prefer it for several reasons over traditional wire mesh.

1. It has adhesive on one side, .. so, provided you have completely dried the pot on the inside, it will stick.
2. It is very pliable so if you are using a pot that is not flat at the bottom around the drainage hole areas, this material will easily bend around the them. I don't remember the price but it could not have been more than 5$ per roll. You will find it in the paint or tiling section of Bunnings. Most staff there don't even know it exists themselves so asking them (if you can catch one) might be pointless.

I've never used the stuff before, but I'm glad to hear that it works for you. By the way, if you wanted to ask for this stuff, I believe that 'plaster jointing tape' would be a good term to start with.

It is called CSR "Gyprock" "Easytape"
I have a roll here and have used it to repair Gyprock walls, but never thought to use it as pot Liner.. Great idea

I use some plastic "Gutter Guard" offcuts to cover the holes in my pots. A freind last year had the gutters covered and kept the offcuts for this purpose
