Kanuma and Akadama - available for Immediate Pickup or Deliv

Post by kcpoole »

I have picked up the delivery today and packed it all away.
Those that have previously let me know they are interested I( will contact over the next week to arrange pick up etc.

As quoted in my initial thread, Cost will be $28 per Bag

I have 3 sizes of each in stock, Fine About 3-4 mm, Medium 6-8mm and Course 12-16mm or so.
See the photos below of the different sizes.
The bags are 50 x 30 10 cm in size and Kanuma is 5Kg and Akadama is 10Kg

I use Kanuma in layers on my pots with larger in the bottom and smaller on top. Larger trees i use course in the bottom, smaller ( shohin and smaller) I use medium and fine only.
Akadama I will add some to my usual mix and see how it goes (I expect it will be good).

Send me a PM if you have not done so already and we can arrange it,

I am investigating delivery costs to those outside of Sydney and I have gotten online quotes from $15 to 30 per bag but need to confirm
Australia post Quote of $25 to Melbourne 3004
Pack and Send $18 + to same suburb.
If anyone has a good experience / Prices with couriers, please let me know.

I am home ( Kings Langley) most nights of the week to facilitate pickup and and daughter is a Uni student so we can do a few days during the week as well
Every Tuesday night I will be at North Rocks for school so can have there as well.

Send PM and we ca arrange times

Arthur Robinson, also provides an information sheet to go with Akadama and Kanuma

A common mix of Akadama would be something like
Akadama
Pumice
Sifted pine bark
Decompsed granite.

This I think closely approximates what the US refers to as "Boon's mix"
happy for someone who has actually used and seen it to comment

Has anyone used Sendle to ship stuff? https://www.sendle.com/#pricing
they are about the Cheapest I can find online

2 bags of Kanuma = $19 Nationally
2 bags of Akadama = $26 Nationally

Regional areas seems to be a little more but not sure where those areas are

I have never gotten around to uploading details of the Pumice until dervish asked today :-)

The bags are about 28L and weigh 20KG each when dry
Bag size is 600mmx 400mm x 120 mm
Particle size is 1-7 mm ( that is all they supply so i sieve down further as required.

Cost for each bag is $25
can ship but that would be $28 per bag
