Hi fishnfreak , In Victoria Bunnings sell dremel as well as most hardwares and tool stores , they have a range of carving bits also . You should be able to do a google search and find a supplier near you .

Most hardware stores will stock or be able to get bits in for dremel but they will probably only be able to supply the smaller cutters. Look online for the different sizes and shapes then order through your local shop.

Larger bonsai carving bits may be harder to get hold of. A bonsai nursery might be able to help.
Bonsai sensation stocks some here in Victoria. Alpine posted here when he got some not so long ago viewtopic.php?f=20&t=24126&hilit=carving+bits and someone else added another Aust supplier in that thread.
When Tony Tickel was in Canberra this year he was using some that are made in Pommy land by someone he knows. I believe that one of the Sydney bonsai people are stocking those but not sure who.

Hey fishnfreak
Not sure where you're going to buy in SA but if you search you'll find a post I put up dated 23 April 2013 called "carving tools" , another place I've discovered that stocks saburr tooth burrs is South East Queensland woodworking supplies, they stock 1/8" shank burrs but can order in 1/4" shank burrs if you want. hope that's helpful
cheers

I have a cordless Dremel and an Arbortech Mini Grinder and with these could carve anything from shohin to large trees. Arbortech does the grunt work removing a lot of wood, Dermel does the detail work.

You would be looking at $400 for both, plus burrs for the dremel (Saburtooth are great BTW).

Cheers,
Mojo
