Baloc's has heaps of pre bonsai stock at reasonable prices. He also has a good amount of high quality bonsai.

Orient has a nice little retail shop with all the accessories, however when i went there they were very expensive. >200 for some branch cutters if i remember correctly. They have a large variety of pots and a few large areas filled with bonsai.

There is a store in Hawthorn that I have not been to, but i'm assuming it has good stuff but equally expensive. Any one been there?

That'll be Lindsay Farr's Bonsai farm. It'll kind of be a waste of time coming to Melbourne if you were not to visit there.

Solid looking list. I"m going to have to find a way to make it to Bonsai Farm and Bonsai Art.

Has this nursery extended to being open on weekends? I noticed you can visit by appointment on weekends in a post from 2011. I think I would be obligated to purchase something if I visited by appointment...

Just purchased 4 bonsai tools, so can't spend too much more just yet unless I wanted a divorce :)

Chojo requires an appointment if you go midweek
Baloc is usually open but ring first
Bonsai art, might be closed Sundays not sure if that has changed
Bonsai shows will have good purchase opportunities
Vic Native Bonsai club April 12 & 13 in Essendon
Bendigo club show at Easter
Morning ton peninsula club at Easter
Bonsai society of Victoria annual sale day June 1st in Kew
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Make an appointment to go see Bonsais Sensation, Tien won't mind you dropping in just to visit (if you don't drop in, you can't buy anything  ) I love dropping in to see Tien, always up for a chat and never to busy to walk you around the nursery.

Hi ozzy,
Bonsai Art is open on Sundays and definitely worth visiting - great selection of everything!!! Check out their website http://www.bonsaiart.com.au!
Yarra Valley Bonsai Society has their Show on Saturday 17th May in Montrose, with lots of stock $5.00 - $1000+ and also stands, pots and other stuff!
It coincides with the local Market Day, something for the missus :?: ;)
Cheers

Wow great response, thanks, I'm going to plot all these shops out on a map and make a day of it, not sure yet if it will be a week day or weekend, I'm thinking a Saturday could be the best day to catch everyone when they are open?
