Sydney Wildflower Nursery West - anyone been?

Post by brenden »

Hi,

Has anyone been out to Sydney Wildflower Nursery West in Marsden Park (Sydney)?

Full address: 241 South St, Marsden Park
Website: http://www.australian-natives.com/home.php

Website looks impressive in terms of stock. Just wondering if anyone has been out there and what their native stock is really like.

Cheers,
Brenden

G'day Brenden,

Mark Ferrington is/was the proprietor of Sydney Wild Flower Nursery however the retail nursery closed down in June 2007. He now runs a design and consulting business specialising in native plants. His new and updated website can be found at http://www.australian-natives.com.au

Brenden there is a Native Nursery at Heathcote Sydney Wildflower Nursery in Veno Street Heathcote which has some lovely natives. I was there on the weekend as I wanted an Acacia Howittii which was proving just about impossible to get. They had three there. It is small but an well established nursery

Which Acacia di dyou Want
The upright variety or the Prostrate one?

Most Nativ nurseries usually have the upright Variety, but the only place I have seen the Prostrate one is at Ray Nesci's.

Managed to get one at Sydney Wildflower Nursery. It is a prostrate one. The owner said they are very hard to propergate. I fell in love with one I saw at Bonsai South at Caringbah a couple of years back but didn't buy it. I will have a look at Ray Nescis when I get over that way
Thanks
