I was thinking of heading along to check out Summerland Bonsai Society this weekend, is anyone else from this Ausbonsai going?

Also wondering if:

a. it is actually on this Saturday? (I have been known to exhibit a selective illiteracy where calendars are concerned)

b. is it still at Lismore Public School (anything specific - a classroom no?)

c. do I need to take anything along?

Not sure if this in on the 1st Satruday or 2nd Saturday of each month, have found both dates listed with different locations online. Uniting Church hall Keen St Lismore, Lismore Public School.

Wired magazine had listed in July 2010 as the Red Dove Centre on the 2nd Saturday. No answer yet at - 02 6628 5597, will keep trying and will post info if and when I confirm.

Tomorrow at 1.30pm Uniting Church Hall corner of Keen and Woodlark Street.

Well I made it along last weekend to the Uniting Church hall off Woodlark. Was a good afternoon, met all the folks, saw some great trees including a well established celtis, I got some advice for a yamadori celtis I took along. There was loads of experience on hand to offer advice to novice and student alike. I did not do a head count but would guess there would have been 15 to 20 people there.
They had a presentation on suiseki, some lovely example stones; a raffle for a large bonsai pot gifted by Red Dragon Bonsai; and tea, coffee and biscuits.
All in all it was a good afternoon, if I can make it I’ll head along next month.

Sorry Ken did not get any photos as my camera is on the fritz.
