I would like to welcome the bonsai community in Sydney to visit us at the Illawarra Bonsai Society. We meet on the third Monday of every month except December and January. We start at 7.30 p.m. at the Gymea Community Centre, Gymea Bay Road, Gymea, Sydney. If you are interested just show up at that time and we will make you very welcome. Next year (2010) we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary and also we will be hosting the AABC Conference here in Sydney.

Also if you are interested in Suiseki, we have a meeting on the third Wednesday of every month except for school holidays. We also start at 7.30 p.m. at the Don Moore Community Centre, North Rocks Road, North Rocks, Sydney. It is the same place where the School of Bonsai have their meeting/workshops.

Brenda, President of both the Illawarra Bonsai Society Inc and Suiseki Australia

Campbelltown has a very busy Bonsai Group. We meet every Monday night during school terms at Ruse Community Hall, Oberon Rd at 7.30pm.
I have included a copy of our term 2 program.

brace yourself...
A BONSAI REVOLUTION>

The next generation, the up and comings of the bonsai community are creating in the near future an exciting new club on the northern beaches. This is all still in the early stages of development, but we are going to bring a fresh breath to the bonsai scene and have several new fun events directed towards the younger crew but also facilitating for the oldies. Consider it a bonsai revolution. Keep an eye out for its grand opening.

If you would like any further information regarding this club or if you would like to become a part of the movement, email enquiries to: itsonlybegun@hotmail.com

As the new year starts I am hoping to visit a club this year.
Unlike others on this thread I dont actually have the time to travel too much.
Id guess they are all full of crazy people who like little trees.
So as I live in Gladesville, I think the Northern Beaches is too far. as will be Gymea, North Rocks sounds doable just gotta survive the traffic etc etc..
Can those in Sydney suggest which club is closest for me to visit and let me know contact detail.

Thanks for your input
Chris.

Bonsai Study Group meet at West Pymble Community Hall, Lofberg Rd. Every Tuesday during normal school term from 10.00am to about 12.30pm and then again 6.30pm to about 9.00pm for those that have to earn a living. First meeting 1st Tuesday in February and not that far from Gladesville,

Cheers

Hey Hartos
North Rocks is fine traffic wise as classes start at 7pm, which after our long peak 4hrs traffic get home

From Gladesville you would be 20 mins to get there by 7
