Illawarra Bonsai Society Show - August 29-30

Hi everyone,

Illawarra Bonsai Society will be holding their annual Spring Show on August 29-30. The show will be at Sylvania Heights Community Centre, Box Road, Sylvania Heights. The show is open between 10am and 4pm.

Entrance is $5 and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

As well as the display of Bonsai and Suiskei there will be demonstrations, raffles, sales tables by bonsai nurseries as well at Mirkwood pots by Pat Kennedy, and a clinic for advice and help with bonsai.

Hi to all bonsai and suiseki enthusiasts,

I am just reiterating what our secretary Jamie has already told you about our up and coming show THIS weekend, 29th & 30th August, from 10am to 4pm.
We have lots of members and bonsai friends who we would love to see this weekend. That doesn't exclude our many bonsai friends who live out of town - maybe you are in Sydney this coming weekend so come along and see us and meet up with old friends.
There is a $5 entry fee and that entitles each visitor to one FREE raffle ticket with a chance to win a Colin Lewis bonsai book and a ready made bonsai.
Come along and share the bonsai passion with us, enjoy a cuppa and a cupcake and maybe get inspired by our trees............and suiseki!!!

Hi all,

Thank you for all of our bonsai friends who came along to our show at the weekend. It was great to see everyone and to share our passion. We are in the process of getting together some photographs and we will post them on here as soon as we can. Again, it was great to catch up with everyone and that what it is all about, do you agree?

One thing that I forgot to tell you all, that at our show the lucky door prize of a stand, saikei and a Colin Lewis book was won by a 9 year girl who is absolutely over the moon with her good fortune. A future bonsai artist in the making, I hope so!

Jamo, thanks for sharing those with us. Very nice and i specially like the pieris japonica, i was debating the other day when i saw one at bunnings. turned out i didnt get one, so after seeing this one im all inspired again. Must go out now and try and get one now. Cheers Petra!
