We should get as much outside input as possible and it's cheaper than flying to England.

If any of you bods come into contact with John, mention my name and he'll paste you one.
He originates from this neck of the woods and we can actually understand each other's dialect. Like all Yorkshire tykes, he's a decent sort of rotter but hide the silver.

My name is Don. I'm a UK nutter and bonsaiholic but I'm on medication (when I can find the tablets)

The session with John Hanby this Sunday (1st November) is sure to be a ripper – 6 tree makeovers, tree critiques and a chance to spend some time with a UK guru …… let alone mingle with our peers http://www.johnhanbybonsai.co.uk
In addition to all this, you have a chance to win one or more of the great raffle prizes. I don’t have full details but I know the following tree is one of the raffle prizes. (The photo doesn’t really show the size, but its pretty big….)
Too late to pre-register but payment ($40) can be made at the door.
9.30am to 4.30pm
Note there is a typo in the leaflet. The address of Manly Warringah Leagues club is
563 Pittwater Rd
Brookvale NSW
BYO lunch or use the leagues club brassiere
I am sure If you get a chance to drop in I am sure you will have an enjoyable day
Regards
Steve
Ps – and no I am not on commission

Re: John Hanby lecture - 01.11.09 at Manly Sydney
Sunday 1st.Nov. was indeed a great day due to John Hanby's wonderful gift of getting his message(s) over in a quiet inspirational way.
The Sakura club that meets at Manly-Warringah Leagues club (nearly always on the second sunday morning of the month) had never seen such an attentive audience and five or six new members signed up. Not six-nearly 20 trees were discussed and some had major makeovers, wiring proceeding with the help of willing volunteers so that the changes could be fully appreciated on the day.
There was a wealth of information and ideas on offer and the rush to get in and improve th bonsai is on!
