Thank you to all who attended on Sunday either as stall holders or buyers. The weather was kind to us and the atmosphere was full of bonsai spirit and friendship.

We recorded over 1260 visitors during the 3 hours that the Market was on and in excess of 500 in the first hour.

In total there were:
• 1021 bonsai,
• 533 pots and
• 594 other bonsai related items for sale.
I'm waiting on some of the stall holders to return their surveys so I'll be able to report on how many items were sold.

I've had some great feedback and suggestions for the next AusBonsai Market and I'm taking it all on board. If you have any ideas, please let me know in this thread or via PM.

I really appreciate everyone who came along and helped make it a great day. I know considerable effort was put in by many people who traveled huge distance to get there and for that I'm truly grateful.

Special mention to KC Poole, Bougy Fan, Squizzy and Bonsai Mike who were instrumental with their assistance on the day. :hooray:

Regards,
Steven

Ouch!!!!

Hi Steven, I'm very happy to replace the pot so if you, or the new owner, can get to Canberra for Bonsai Week, I'll have the pot in the car.

Cheers,Pat

Happy to say that I'm the proud new owner :tu:
I won't be making it to bonsai week though unfortunately. However I could have someone from my club pick it up. Would just need to know how much $$$ to send with them please?

Hi all,

I've now received all surveys back from the sellers and have the following statistics to report that some may find interesting.

Number of items available for sale on the day:
Bonsai and stock trees - 1,021
Pots - 533
Other items - 594

Number of items sold on the day:
Bonsai and stock trees - 654
Pots - 287
Other items - 150

Percentage of items sold on the day:
Bonsai and stock trees - 64.05%
Pots - 53.85%
Other items - 25.25%

There has been great feedback and some very useful suggestions for the next AusBonsai Market. If anyone has any further ideas, please let me know.

Hi Steven great result! One thing to consider would be an online component following the day itself. That would allow for those that couldn't make it on the actual day to still buy, and sellers to reach a few more. I know there is nothing stopping people selling on this forum anyway, but I would be curious to see if there was additional online sales following.
Otherwise look forward to attending every time it's on!

My suggestion is way out there, bring it to Albury Wodonga. 3.5 hours from Melbourne, 6 hours from Sydney, 3 hours from Canberra and 9 hours from Adelaide!

Great place to visit for a weekend. Lake Hume, Falls Creek, Beechworth, Yackandandah, Rutherglen to name a few. Good wine, good food and great places to see.

I could assist with organisation if required.
