Had a great time in Japan and thought you might like a couple of photos from the exhibition.

Thanks for sharing, Watto. It's always exciting to see pics of the Kokufu ten and I love most of the bonsai you chose to present here, especially the Prunus and cherry. It just shows that not everything in Japanese bonsai belongs to a rigid styling school. Am also admiring the elm. No doubt the conifers are awesome in real life, but their rounded triangular apex is a bit repetitive, seen even in small shohin. I bet the exhibition was really inspiring and fabulous as always. Lucky you, for having seen it!

There was plenty of inspiration and another great learning experience. The exhibition was quite diverse in the trees featured and I managed to get a photo of a tree owner proudly in front of his tree that was on display, quite a nice moment. Photography was difficult because of the number of people and the lighting made it difficult, but I am still happy.
A summer holiday is always a bit dicey as I needed to rely on an automatic watering system to water the collection here, but it was worth the gamble.

I don't think it will change me too much, but it did make me really appreciate the time it take to create good bonsai.
