Looks great. Thanks for taking the time to post so many photos. Enjoy seeing a lot of natives and sub-tropicals. Cheers

Re: Redlands Bonsai Society Annual Show
As others have said, thanks Mel for the effort of posting. Great to see a full range of trees from a show. Loved that there were so many Natives. I'm curious though, do you have thoughts on why there was only the one JBP? Do people from your club not grow them? Is it more that at this time of year with candles extending they don't look their best? Or other reasons?
Personally I love Natives. I do have a few exotics, classics like Chinese Elm, Japanese Maple (although I may not for much longer), Tridents (although only seedlings still) and a few Junipers, but I love my JBP.

Re: Redlands Bonsai Society Annual Show
Cheers KCAR, Dan and dansai, I really don't know why there were no more pines, it's possible that you're right about them not looking their best at this time of year. I'm a member of three local clubs, and they are well represented at the other clubs, so it's not as though they don't grow well here. I'm just happy to know that we have so many other options.

Great show and pleasant way to spend a Sunday Morning; I even picked up a new tree
Sorry about the rotation; it looked fine in the directory...

Good on you Snipz, it's tough to walk through the sales area and NOT buy anything!
You'll get another chance at the Gold Coast show next week.

Re: Redlands Bonsai Society Annual Show
As others have said Mel, thanks so much for the photos. I loved that I could read the cards to get the species too. I was impressed with a few of the Junipers - some lovely taper evident. The narrow leafed paperbark showed amazing ramification and leaf size reduction. Gives me hope for the one I am developing.
Lots of natives on display with some really naturalistic styling.
I have never seen Jade looking so good as bonsai either.
Did I spot a couple of your trees there? The Willow Leaf Fig and Swamp Cypress?
Once again, thanks for your work.

Re: Redlands Bonsai Society Annual Show
What a great show. thanks for sharing the pictures.
Some of these trees would not look out of place as loan trees at the NBPCA.
Loan Submissions from SE QLD are now open for the next loan intake.
If you would like further information on the NBPCA's loan program, please send us a PM.
The process is very simple, but you will need to act fast. We are scheduled to make our pick up & drop off before the end of November.
Cheers
Leigh

Re: Redlands Bonsai Society Annual Show
Cheers Sonya, I had the bamboo...lol. Plus the little willow leaf fig in the crescent pot, and a benji that needs a lot of work still...
Leigh thanks, I'm sure you've probably already had trees from these winners before, so I'll remind them you're going to be here in late November. Averil is handling it, is she not?

Some very nice trees, well displayed and well photographed. Thanks for the effort

A: Because we are not all there.

Hi Mel
Thank you very much.
We have just had a change-over in the Selection & Ambassadorial Committee nationally. The new ambassadors for QLD are Tony Bebb and Beau Pett. Prospective lenders or donors can either contact either of those two gentlemen, or the NBPCA office directly.
Regards
Leigh
